The Movers and Makers

It started as a personal project, a one-of-a-kind. I was looking to make a new camera strap with simple and classic styling, with clips that were easy to hook on and off (even in the cold weather).

The Camera Strap

After threading up the machine in our studio, we decided not to keep the strap to ourselves. Tom’s opinion….“let’s do a small batch and see who else wants one”. So here they are, our camera straps, handmade in our studio in Peckham, London (in fact, due to the lockdown in the UK, the final stages were finished in my flat just around the corner).

Just like all the other products we make, we feel strongly about designing products that stand the test of time and can endure all the snags, drops and whatever else you throw at them. ‘Buy it well, buy it once’ as we like to say.

Based on this ethos, we made the strap from military grade materials and components. The tubular webbing is used in military and industrial uses to cover pipes, hoses etc. But we liked it as it’s strong (as in 1814.369kg breaking strain strong) and because it’s tubular, the edges are smooth, so don’t rub on your neck or shoulder. The stainless steel snap hooks are not only strong, but have a large sprung gate to take the fiddling out of clipping on.

We’ve only made 10 in this first batch, so make sure to get in quick if you’re after something unique. Head to our online store.
