At Salkan, we believe great packs deserve a long life. That’s why we give returned packs a second chance, keeping perfectly usable gear out of landfill and back in the hands of people who’ll take it on new adventures.

Our packs are designed to wear in, not wear out  and our Second Life Sale reflects that philosophy. Every returned pack is carefully assessed and refreshed where needed to be rehomed to ensure nothing goes to waste.

Each year in the UK alone, around 310,000 tonnes of textiles are discarded, with the average product lasting just three years. Backpacks are part of that problem and reducing this waste is something we’re deeply committed to.

All packs sent back to us go through a thorough quality check, are logged and photographed, and then made available through our annual Second Life Sale.
This results in a reduced-price pack that’s ready for its next journey.

So far, our Second Life Sales have saved 128 packs from landfill  and we’re just getting started.
