We recently joined with Klean Kanteen on their mission in reducing single-use plastic. Here is their story.

In the early 2000s, you couldn’t buy a reusable, stainless steel water bottle. As a family-owned company on a mission, Klean Kanteen decided to change that. In 2004 they introduced the first stainless steel, BPA-free, reusable water bottle to give people and their families a non-toxic solution for personal hydration, while also kicking the single-use habit.

From the very beginning, Klean Kanteens have been built with love— the love of adventure, the love of conserving wild places and the love of replacing single-use plastic.

Now, over 15 years later Klean Kanteen is a B-Corporation and 1% for the planet member, showing they work tirelessly to use business as a force for good. Under the 1% for the planet scheme, 1% of their gross sales go into helping charities and the environment. To date, they have given away more than 3.1 million dollars in unrestricted funds to non-profits working on climate change and related environmental issues.

In 2020 Klean Kanteen completed Climate Neutral’s rigorous three-step process and is now 100% carbon neutral in the manufacturing and delivery of their products worldwide.

As awareness increases over the problem of single-use plastic we can all help by making simple swaps like using Klean Kanteen bottles. Their mission of reducing and replacing single-use plastic has been at the heart of the brand from the start, each reusable stainless-steel bottle can replace a lifetime of single-use alternatives.
